A prayer for the starving

You know plenty of people go without food in the world but worst of all plenty of people go without the food for the soul and spirit. The food for the soul and the spirit is the Holy Ghost. Some of these starving people may very well either be your brethren in Christ or you fellow man. The food you eat in a day might be more than some eat in a week, and in terms of the spirit, it may be more than some have in all their lives. There are places in the world who aren't as fortunate to have a Bible with them at all times as we do. And in worse cases, they go through persecution for having one. So if you have a chance today let's do a little prayer for our brethren and fellow man around the world who are hungry---both in Body and Spirit.

Holy and most merciful Father in Heaven. We thank you for the food we receive everyday. We thank you for remembering us and nurturing us both in body and spirit. Lord we ask you to supply us with our daily bread every day. We ask You to remember our brethren in Christ and our fellow man who go without food or water. We humbly ask you to fill their bodies with water and food so that they neither thirst nor hunger this day. Most of all my Lord, we ask you to fill their souls and spirits with the Holy Ghost. For the spirit is worth more than the flesh and thus should be nurtured more than even the fleshy body. Lord fill them this day and every other day with your Spirit so that they may rejoice in feeling the hand of God in their lives. Let them not fear persecution or worry about tomorrow but be in comfort that the Lord is with them at all times and protecting them. For if You be with us, then who can be against us? We have seen your power as it was testified in your Word and how you can feed great multitudes with left over scraps. We believe and trust in You, God of Abraham, that you can feed our brethren, fellow man, and us at all times and can cover us with your grace. We pray that we live off of your bread daily and that we are supplied by you daily: Not becoming too rich that we forget and become less mindful of you and Not becoming too poor that we steal or become resentful of You. Truly we are fortunate to know You and be in the truth with love and understanding. In the holy name of Jesus Christ the Son, the King, and the Redeemer...AMEN.
